Detectives have launched an investigation after a man died at a house in Canterbury last night, possibly of contaminated heroin.

Officers were called to the house in London Road at 11.30pm by ambulance staff when the 43-year-old man became ill. He was later pronounced dead.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Banks said: “It is believed the man may have injected heroin just prior to his death and drug users should be aware of the possibility that the drug was contaminated.”

A 41-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested and interviewed about the supply of controlled drugs.
